Mark is a native of County Tyrone in Northern Ireland, and of Scottish ancestry. He was born into a Christian home and received Jesus Christ as his Savior as a boy. He is a graduate of the University of Ulster and Queens University of Belfast, where he studied at Union Theological College. In 2010 he earned a Doctor of Ministry from the Highland Theological College (Scotland) and Reformed Theological Seminary (Jackson, MS).
Mark met his wife Jessica (a native of Upstate New York) while they were both studying the Old Testament at Jerusalem University College in Israel. The Lord has blessed them with three sons: Joshua, Timothy, and Benjamin. The family loves reading, football (soccer), swimming, gardening, travel, music and history.
Mark worked briefly in business before sensing and responding to God’s call to gospel ministry. Also, he has served as a pastor in the United Kingdom (Presbyterian Church in Ireland) before coming to the United States. For ten years, he has served as pastor of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of East Liverpool, Ohio (PCA). In August 2014 he was installed as the Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church Schenectady (PCA).
